Description
Mental health needs are universal. About half of us will end up having a diagnosable mental health issue at some point during our lives, and we all know what it is like to have a bad day. We also understand conflicts are hard and they often bring out the worst in us. There are simple ways to be ready for when mental health needs arise during conflicts. This handbook introduces different mental health perspectives, dispels common stereotypes, and provides tools for empowering mental health communication. This book is designed to help laypeople as well as professionals across all kinds of conflicts. It includes case studies, personal stories, and takeaway tools to help readers apply the skills to the situations they face in their personal and professional lives.
When Mental Health and Conflicts: A Handbook for Empowerment was first published by the American Bar Association in 2022, it was very expensive and not affordable for many who wanted it. DRI Press and Dan Berstein are united in their commitment for mental health inclusion and empowerment. We decided to make this book available as widely as possible and at the lowest cost possible so anyone can use its lessons and tools to help them during their conflicts and mental health situations.
